The Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner is the operating arm of the Jersey Data Protection Authority. The JOIC oversees the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 and the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011. Their mission is to ensure that individuals’ data is handled fairly, lawfully, and transparently. JOIC conducts investigations, manages the registration process under the Data Protection Law, and educates both the public and organisations about their rights and responsibilities. They also play a pivotal role in promoting transparency and accountability across the public sector.
